Finally after waiting an entire year it's Henry's Seventh Birthday! He has been super excited about it. This year's theme is Mars Mission after the new Lego series of toys.
We were a bit worried when we heard the loud distinct pitter patter of rain the night before, as Kenny had devised an elaborate Martian battleground in the backyard. He spent much of last weekend constructing the Martian monsters and bought a vast array of Nerf guns and other weapons in anticipation of the battle.
Fortunately the weather was cooperative and the battle went as planned, and with obvious results. Mars was conquered and is now ready for colonization. The kids were in absolute heaven.
