Yesterday we drove down to Hilary and John's to drop off business cards and tags for Hilary's new venture, and misc. paper and labels for Sabrina's bridal shower favors Hilary is working on.
On the drive down we continued our Peter and Fudge saga. Rhys at some point had fallen asleep and I was a little concerned about him wetting himself since he had a lot of juice prior to our leaving the house. Once we got to their place I hopped out of the car to drop off various things and tried to get Rhys to go to the bathroom. He insisted that he didn't have to go so we all left for the Irvine Spectrum Center.
While scouting for a parking spot Rhys began to whine terribly. I kept asking him what was the matter until he finally responded by saying he had to 'go pee pee'. Kenny immediately unbuckled him and then they both exited the car in search of the nearest restroom. We were lucky to find a parking spot a minute later and that it was close to Hilary's car was a bonus.
Once we caught up with them Rhys was in full blown melt down mode. This happens frequently when he awakes from naps and this time it was a little more stressful than usual for him because of the unfamiliar surroundings and the panic of having to find a bathroom. This time he got so upset he banged his head on the hard cement floor outside of Nordstroms. Ouch!
We decided to have dinner at the Red Robin after which we separated. The boys went to the arcade and Hilary and I hit some shops. We had a goal in mind: mainly figuring out what the heck I'm going to wear to Jamie's Birthday party (gasp groan 80s theme!). We went to H&M and found a couple of key items! I shuddered through much of the browsing. Sorry Jamie, but I am not a big fan of 80s fashion. I don't mind looking at it as long as I'm not wearing it. Hilary seemed a bit grumpy with my lack of enthusiasm, she kept asking me where I was during the 80s since I wasn't as into it and I replied that I was wearing my school uniform and when I wasn't in that I usually was in black a la the much tamer precursor to the current Goth craze.
This morning my little Rhys decided to give the toilet seat a try! Something very little came out I'm pretty sure and probably dived straight down to the bottom of the bowl. We were all so happy and proud that he sat on the seat we had a little celebration and promised a special toy. He decided on a Bionicle. A red Bionicle!
Later in the late afternoon Kenny geared himself up to do the deed. Attend to the wasp hives that we found under the eaves earlier this week! Everyone, including our neighbors were pretty apprehensive about it. At the time we had the little barbecue starting up and even I decided that I was going to let it simmer while he was dealing with the wasps just in case they decide to scatter who knows where! Luckily for all concerned it went off without a hitch. He had bought some things from the Home Depot in preparation. That combined with water it did the trick!
After the massacre and feeling rather a bit Imperial our little brood settled in the back patio enjoying a meal of grilled hot dogs, sausages and corn on the cob!
